Site Agent
Position: Highways Site Agent / Site Manager
Location: North West & Cumbria
Project: National and Local Highways Frameworks
Duration: Permanent
Salary or Pay Rate: £50,000 – £65,000 per annum (DOE)
Requirements:
- SMSTS
- CSCS Black Card or equivalent
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong understanding of CDM Regulations
- Experience delivering highways or civil engineering projects
- Knowledge of NEC contracts desirable
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety and quality standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Framework Managers and Project Managers across a range of highways projects.
- Manage day-to-day site operations, including night shift works and handovers.
- Prepare and deliver RAMS, Work Package Plans (WPPs), and Task Briefings.
- Develop and manage short-term programmes, milestones, and site resources.
- Monitor project costs, commercial performance, and assist with budget management.
- Support contract administration, including NEC contract requirements.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and manage site variations.
- Ensure works are delivered in line with design specifications and quality standards.
- Produce and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Maintain accurate site records, diaries, progress reports, and briefing documentation.
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, subcontractors, and key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Site Agent or Site Manager within highways or civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, temporary works, and site management.
- Experience managing direct labour, subcontractors, plant, and materials.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and manage both day and night shift operations when required.

Our client is a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure and highways projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Highways Site Agent / Site Manager to support the successful delivery of works across their North West and Cumbria frameworks.
