Job Title: Project Director
Location: Boston, MA
Activities and Responsibilities
1. Establish, in cooperation with the Executive Management, specific project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in accordance with corporate policies.
2. Initiate and maintain liaison with clients and Architects and engineer contacts, to facilitate construction activities.
3. Plan, organize and staff key field positions of relevant projects.
4. Monitor the economic progress of projects through project control systems, reporting systems and periodical meetings with the Project Managers, Superintendents and Operations Manager to ensure positive results, schedule and margins.
5. Represent company as required in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
6. Manage financial aspects of per company’s goals while maintaining good relationship with Client.
7. Supervise the work of Project Managers/Deputy PM when assigned.
8. Ensure compliance with all required EHS regulations.
9. Monitor overall quantity and quality of work performed.
10. Partner with HR and Operations Management for personnel requirements and planning, development of assigned personnel, identification of appropriate paths to knowledge and skills development of employees.
11. Manage employees according to Performance Management System guidelines, in collaboration with the HR department.
12. Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the projects, company or as directed per Executive Management’s direction.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
• Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent.
• Extensive (fifteen or more years) experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management required.
• Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
• Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities
• superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential.
• Significant business skill required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
