Operations Manager

Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: Boston, MA
Activities and Responsibilities:
1. Develop operations plan and direct overall activities to assist in achieving total construction objectives. Responsible for budgeting, production planning, staffing, and inventory levels.
2. Direct (through subordinate managers) activities of production department to obtain optimum use of personnel, equipment and facilities.
3. Reviews and analyzes expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine requirements for increasing profits, for assigned facilities. May coordinate activity with appropriate construction operational personnel to ensure total project(s) budgets are met.
4. Approves requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies within limits of production department budget. May negotiate contracts with equipment and materials suppliers.
5. Enforces compliance of production personnel with administrative policies, procedures, EHS and Quality procedures rules and regulations, and governmental regulations.
6. Trains and develops subordinate personnel and approves personnel actions and pay changes for assigned area.
7. Coordinate production efforts with appropriate Construction Area Managers or Project Managers and project personnel to ensure field operations are maintained at maximum efficiency.
8. On Union projects may assist in jurisdictional disputes and negotiations as required.
9. Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
• 4-year degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience.
• Minimum of 10 years supervisory experience.
• Advanced understanding of construction production methods, processes, standards and their impacts on project activities
• Supervision of large groups essential.
• OSHA 30-hrs Construction Training; First-Aid/CPR
• Good communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills required.
