Location: Saxmundham, Suffolk
Duration: Ongoing, long-term
Rate: £24–£25 per hour, rate negotiable depending on experience
Hours: 07:30 – 18:00
Tickets / Qualifications Required:
- SSSTS (Essential)
- CSCS or equivalent
- Previous Logistics Management experience on major construction or infrastructure projects (Essential)
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft applications and delivery management systems
- CILT membership desirable but not essential
Foundation Personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced Logistics Manager to work on a long-term major construction project in Saxmundham, Suffolk.
This role is on behalf of a leading international engineering and construction contractor delivering major infrastructure and complex building projects across the UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating site logistics, ensuring the efficient movement of materials, deliveries, plant and personnel while supporting the wider construction programme.
Duties Will Include:
- Managing and coordinating day-to-day logistics activities across the project
- Supporting the development and implementation of site logistics and mobilisation plans
- Planning and coordinating deliveries, material movements and storage areas
- Managing delivery management systems and monitoring vehicle movements
- Coordinating plant movements and site transport arrangements
- Forecasting material, transport and resource requirements
- Managing site access, pedestrian routes and traffic management arrangements
- Liaising with project management, subcontractors, suppliers and other key stakeholders
- Monitoring and reporting logistics data and resource requirements
- Supporting project mobilisation and the setup of logistics operations
- Ensuring vehicle loads, plant movements and access routes comply with site requirements
- Maintaining accurate logistics records, documentation and reports
- Identifying opportunities to improve logistics efficiency and site operations
- Ensuring high standards of health, safety and housekeeping are maintained throughout the project
About You:
You will have previous experience working as a Logistics Manager or in a similar logistics management position within construction or infrastructure.
Experience working on major projects and managing deliveries, materials, plant movements, site access and logistics planning would be highly advantageous.
You should be organised, proactive and confident liaising with site management, subcontractors and suppliers while working within a busy, programme-driven construction environment.
