Pay Rate: £310 Per Day
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated SSSTS General Foreman to oversee daily site operations and ensure the smooth execution of construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising site workers, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and delivering quality work to meet project deadlines. The SSSTS General Foreman will report to the site manager and act as the link between management and on-site operatives.
Key Requirements:
- Proven 5 years’ experience as a SSSTS General Foreman on large construction projects.
- A good understanding in Fibre Reinforced Concrete Bridges is essential.
- Ability to effectively oversee and manage a team of 30-40 men on site.
- SSSTS Certification required.
- Safety Critical Medical is mandatory.
- Ideally, BBV induction completed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of construction crews, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Enforce health and safety regulations on-site, adhering to SSSTS guidelines and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Conduct site inductions and toolbox talks, ensuring all workers are aware of safety protocols and project requirements.
- Plan and schedule daily tasks to meet project timelines and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Monitor and inspect work progress, quality control, and adherence to specifications and standards.
- Liaise with the site manager, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues that may arise during the project.
- Ensure all plant, materials, and tools are available and maintained to meet the needs of the job.
- Keep accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, labor, and material usage.
- Assist in managing sub-contractors and ensuring they comply with site rules and safety standards.
- Support the development and training of site operatives.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- SSSTS certification (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) is mandatory.
- Proven experience as a Foreman or Site Supervisor in construction, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce them on-site.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of site machinery, tools, and construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- First Aid qualification is an advantage.
