Site Manager
Position: TOP (Taking Over Package) Manager
Reporting to: Site Manager
Location: Pembroke Power Station, South Wales
Project: Synchronous Condenser Installation & HV Grid Connection (National Grid ESO – Pathfinder Programme)
Hours: Full-time, site-based (Monday–Friday)
Duration: Project-based contract (with potential extension)
Salary or Pay Rate: £495/pd
Requirements:
-
Previous experience in construction handover, project close-out, or documentation management
-
Strong understanding of substation or HV infrastructure environments
-
Ability to coordinate with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and commissioning teams
-
Excellent organisational and communication skills
-
Strong awareness of UK regulations, quality standards, and H&S practices
-
Ability to work effectively on a live power-sector site
Key Responsibilities:
-
Manage the Taking Over Package process from construction completion to client acceptance
-
Maintain accurate documentation including as-builts, test records, certificates, O&M manuals, and compliance packs
-
Ensure all project works meet required quality and regulatory standards
-
Act as primary client contact during the handover phase
-
Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to support a smooth transition

Track, manage, and close out defects and snags
-
Support commissioning activities and readiness for energisation
-
Identify and mitigate risks that may impact handover timelines
-
Uphold all site health, safety, and environmental requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
-
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
-
5+ years’ experience in construction project management or handover roles
-
Experience working on substations or grid-connected infrastructure (preferred)
-
Strong knowledge of QA processes and UK construction regulations
-
Competence with document control and project management systems
-
CSCS (Manager/PQP), SMSTS, and First Aid
-
EUSR Substation Entry; BESC/Persons advantageous
