Location: Plymouth, Devon
Pay: £30 per hour, plus £100 per week travel plus £50.65 per night lodge
Experience: Dockyard Experience would be beneficial, PIling or Geotechnical experience would be advantageous but is not essential
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer with a background in civil or geotechnical engineering to join our team on a major dockyard infrastructure project. This is a hands-on role involving the delivery of complex marine works including quay walls, foundations, and associated civil structures in a challenging tidal environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Support and supervise ground investigations, earthworks, and ground improvement activities.

Oversee construction of marine foundations, retaining walls, and concrete structures.

Monitor geotechnical instrumentation and interpret ground performance data.

Ensure all works comply with safety standards, design specifications, and environmental controls.

Assist in developing method statements and construction sequences with geotechnical input.

Liaise with project managers, consultants, and specialist contractors on site.

Maintain accurate site records, test logs, and progress reports.
Requirements:

Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or related discipline).

Site-based experience in marine, infrastructure, or heavy civil engineering projects.

Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles and groundworks.

Familiarity with tidal and marine construction environments.

Excellent organisational and communication skills.

CSCS card and relevant health & safety certifications (e.g. SSSTS, SMSTS) preferred.
