• CSCS Blue Card (Essential)

• Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Equipment Maintenance or equivalent

• CPCS or NPORS (Preferred)

• Proven experience in plant / heavy vehicle maintenance

Foundation Personnel are currently recruiting for a Plant Fitter to work on a major civil engineering and earthworks project in Bristol.

This role is on behalf of a well-established civil engineering and earthworks contractor, recognised for delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK. The company is known for its high standards of plant reliability, strong safety culture, and well-organised site operations.

You will be responsible for carrying out routine inspections, fault finding, servicing, and maintenance across a wide range of heavy construction plant and equipment.

Duties Will Include:

• Routine inspections and scheduled maintenance of earthmoving plant

• Maintenance and repairs on:

  • Tracked Excavators (13–40 tonne)

  • Dozers (D3–D8 class)

  • Articulated Dump Trucks (A30 / A35)

  • Rollers

  • Forward Tipping Dumpers

  • Generators

  • Compaction equipment (Wacker plates, Romax, etc.)

• Diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic faults

• Carrying out breakdown repairs efficiently to minimise downtime

• Completing service records and defect reports

• Ensuring all plant is compliant with site safety and LOLER/PUWER requirements

• Maintaining high health & safety standards at all times

Requirements:

• Valid CSCS Blue Card

• Level 3 qualification in Plant Maintenance / Heavy Equipment Maintenance

• Previous experience working with heavy construction machinery

• CPCS or NPORS (advantageous)

• IOSH Working Safely or equivalent

• Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding ability

• Reliable, organised, and safety-focused
