Foundation Personnel Limited are currently recruiting for an Appointed Person with experience in high rise commercial steel and RC Frame

Job Description:
 

As a Lifting Appointed Person, you will take a lead role in the safe planning, coordination, and execution of lifting operations on this flagship project. Working as part of a Tier One principal contractor’s delivery team, you’ll ensure all lifting activities are compliant with LOLER, BS 7121, and CDM regulations, and are carried out with the highest standards of safety, communication, and control.

This is a full-time, site-based role offering long-term continuity over multiple phases of construction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for planning all lifting operations across site.

  • Prepare and issue lift plans, method statements, and risk assessments.

  • Carry out site surveys to assess lift requirements, ground conditions, access, and obstructions.

  • Liaise with crane supervisors, slinger/signallers, and operators to ensure safe execution of works.

  • Coordinate with other site teams to plan around live operations, logistics, and traffic management.

  • Review subcontractor lifting plans and ensure compliance with project standards.

  • Maintain accurate records of lifting operations, permits, and statutory inspections.

  • Lead toolbox talks and briefings related to lifting activities.

  • Work collaboratively with site managers, engineers, and health & safety teams.

  • Ensure correct selection of lifting accessories and equipment in line with manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) – CPCS A61 or equivalent.

  • Significant experience in planning and overseeing complex lifting operations on major construction projects.

  • Sound knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, CDM 2015 and BS 7121.

  • Strong understanding of different crane types (mobile, tower, crawler, etc.) and lifting gear.

  • Ability to produce clear, detailed lift plans using appropriate software/tools.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.

  • SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable).

  • Right to work in the UK and available for site-based work in Cardiff.
     

Experience with

  • Highrise commercial projects 
  • Steel and RC Frame Experience 
  • Multi-crane sites and experience with tower, mobile and crawler
