Setting Out Engineer – Reinforced Concrete & Civils
Location: Buckinghamshire / HS2
Rate: £350–£425 per day DOE
Contract: Long-term contract

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join an established reinforced concrete and civil engineering contractor.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Setting Out Engineer with a strong background in reinforced concrete, structures and civils to join a busy site team on a long-term infrastructure project.
The Role
Working alongside the Senior Engineer and Site Management team, you will be responsible for the accurate setting out and engineering control of reinforced concrete and civil engineering works.
Your responsibilities will include:

Setting out reinforced concrete and civil engineering works accurately to drawings and specifications.

Carrying out surveying and engineering checks using Total Station, GPS and other surveying equipment.

Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
-
Establishing and maintaining site control points and benchmarks.

Checking dimensions, levels and tolerances throughout construction.

Providing engineering support to Site Management and subcontractors.

Completing quality checks and maintaining accurate site records.

Assisting with ITPs, inspection records, as-builts and other engineering documentation.

Identifying discrepancies between drawings and site conditions and raising RFIs/TQs where required.

Working closely with the Senior Engineer to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately and to programme.

Ensuring all works comply with project specifications, quality standards
About You
The successful candidate will have:

Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on major civil engineering projects.

Strong experience within reinforced concrete, structures or heavy civils.

Confident using Leica
-
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.

Good understanding of levels, coordinates, tolerances and construction sequencing.

Experience working on major infrastructure projects.

Relevant Civil Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).

Appropriate CSCS certification.

Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of site quality requirements.
